18 RACING PRACTICE
RACING PRACTICE DAY
This is the third year of the Club’s increasingly popular Racing Practice Day, best suited to Cruiser Racers.
It is a great way to start the main sailing Season, honing all your racing skills. The racing ground is likely to be between Calshot and Lepe Spit, in the vicinity of racing mark 3S – TeamO. Note the name change from 2023. This
area is equidistant from Gins and from the Hamble. The format of the day, starting at 1200, is:
• Three practice Starts;
• Two short Windward/Leeward Races; and
• To finish the day, a Round-the-Cans Race to test navigational skills. A ‘full on’ but fun day on the water!
