The power
of the meme
As technology, social media, and
the internet more broadly have developed, so has the meme. As
a means of expressing a lack of contentment with the status quo, there is little to match the meme. They are fast overtaking peaceful protest as a means of effecting social change. When amplified by the ever- anonymous @bored_cormorant, which appears to be followed more closely by DS than the students, that change can happen quickly. This selection of memes is presented with thanks to the often anonymous creators, who frequently said what we were all thinking, and whose content provided morale when it was most needed.
