Eddie also gave them an introduction into how to set up an anchor system for a bottom rope climb, which would help them considerably if they went on to the next qualification, RCS, which they both seemed eager to do.
Finally, the Expedition Leader, OCdt Sutherland, had an RMT qualification, therefore she was able to supervise the group, which was extremely useful when the novices and RSFs were split up because it meant each group had their own instructor. She was also able to watch how Eddie taught both the groups to help in her own devel- opment as an Adventurous Training Instructor.
On the whole, the week was extremely success- ful because everybody achieved what they had set out to do at the start of the week. On top of this everybody enjoyed themselves and agreed that they were going to continue on with rock climbing as an AT discipline.
They were very keen to get back on to the rock...
