AUTHORS’ BACKGROUND
Chartered Town Planner / Architect
Arun graduated in Architecture from M.S. University of Baroda, India with B. Arch (Dist) followed by post graduate studies in Architecture from the A.A. School of Architecture, London. He then completed post graduate studies in Town Planning from the Leeds School of Town Planning. He is a Member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation. He joined Northampton Borough Coun- cil in the 1970s as an Urban Designer and was Head of Design and Conservation. He has worked on several major design and planning projects in Northampton including “Civitas” promoted by the Prince’s Foundation for the Built Environment and pioneered by HRH Prince Charles. Arun is a Trustee of 78 Derngate Northampton, the only house in England designed by the world-famous Scottish Architect, Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
JONA KOTNIS MBE JP
Jona has been working as a Presenter/Broadcast Journalist with BBC Radio Northampton for over thirty-five years. She graduated from Elphinstone College, University of Bombay with B.A. (Hons) followed by a post-graduate Diploma in Journalism. She was a Magistrate on the Northampton Bench for twenty-four years. She was awarded an MBE in 2011 for her services to the community.
