work and established an Evacuation Handling centre on the high ground for processing.
As civilians started to approach and were funnelled through the system, the Riflemen and JNCOs were tested with a barrage of different serials.
We were fortunate enough to have Military Working Dogs and BFBS media attached throughout. Having concluded the NEO, the Company were forced to defend our FOB before clearing an enemy compound and finally being
extracted back to Alexandra Barracks on the other side of Cyprus by Puma Helicopter.
Overall, the exercise was a great success. We demonstrated B Coy’s ability to work in
a complicated environment and tested the Riflemen at every rank in a task that was unfamiliar to most of the team. The exercise re-validated B Company as ready to deploy on operations and be at readiness as 1 RIFLES’ Lead Company Group.
