BAND & BUGLES
The Band and Bugles of The Rifles in Gibraltar after completing their two-week tour
of preparations and performances for their Remembrance duties. The brass quintet acted as mentors to those in the BDF Band, providing one-to-one sessions to enhance the level of musicianship of their mentees.
Whilst the main effort of the deployment was to assist the BDF Band in their preparations for their Remembrance event with VIP due to attend, the team also performed in other services as a small ensemble whilst there for The British High Commission Belmopan. Once they had completed their musical duties, they were able to take the chance to have some once in a lifetime experience including swimming with sharks and sting rays in the Caribbean Sea and visiting the famous Mayan Temple!
The last few months of the year held further exciting events. In November, The Bugle Platoon took centre stage across the globe

in Columbia, Somalia, Pakistan, Qatar and Prague whilst participating in various Acts of Remembrance. In particular, Bugle Major CSjt Aaron Keely had the privilege to perform The Last Post at Old Trafford in front of a stadium filled with 70,000 people! The Band and Bugles also provided musical support to a state visit from the President of the Republic of Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol, as well as supporting the

In December, we had numerous events in London, including carolling at Great Ormond Street Hospital, Clarence House and Hannover Square, all of which got us in the Christmas spirit and ready for Christmas leave and some time with our families.
