Remembrance Boxing Event Poster
EDIST Veterans - Chic Wilkinson and Jack Goodwin, representing the RAPTC and EDIST Branch Association at Pete Lyddall’s Funeral
entertaining night of boxing was had and we sponsored one of the bouts which after the bout, both boxers came up to the Veterans area in order that Kev Greef could present them their trophies. This proved to be a great surprise and honour for Kev and he thoroughly enjoyed the whole event.
Post event we all went back to the Wherry Hotel where we had food and drink and caught up and reminisced about all things boxing and APTC/RAPTC. Now looking forward to the next EDIST Association event where hopefully we can bring together all the ex APTC/RAPTCI’s in the region in order to strengthen the bond in the Association area.
Thanks, must go out to all the Staff and Coaches of Kingfisher Boxing Club for their kind invite on a very appropriate weekend for us all and producing a great event for us to attend, and all their continuing work and efforts within the boxing community of Gorleston and Great Yarmouth.
Sadly, since that event we have recently lost one of our great friends, colleague and brother who attended that night, Pete Lyddall. Pete sadly passed away in February 2021 from COVID. He was not only an exemplary Corpsman and Remedial Gymnast and then a Physiotherapist, but a truly kind and gentle man who had time for everyone and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. RIP Pete.
