 Spring Launch for an exciting
Partnership with Lantra Awards
More support for our members!
Feedback from National Allotment Society member allotment sites has revealed
a pressing need for training of those volunteers who work hard to maintain allotment sites in a safe and productive condition. As a result, we have now teamed up with Lantra, a leading awarding body for land-based and environmental training courses and qualifications to offer specialised training for allotment holders.
By working with Lantra training, the Society will be able to provide courses using Lantra expertise. Both face-to-face and E-learning accredited courses will
be available across our 11 Regions and there will be substantial discounts for our members. The courses will be delivered via a nationwide network of expert providers, instructors and assessors, all of whom are quality assured.
The first face-to-face course to run, in spring 2019, will be the Responsible and Effective Control of Commensal Rodents course; more news about that and other courses will be available on www.nsalg.org. uk and in our email newsletter.
NAS welcomes Lantra Awards and looks forward to a long-term partnership providing professional training to our membership.
Train to gain your skills for success
Here at Lantra, we develop specialist training and qualifications for anyone involved in land-based activities – be it for work or pleasure.
Our primary aim is to ensure everyone operates safely and within the requirements of latest legislation, so it makes perfect sense for us to be working closely with like-minded organisations, such as the National Allotment Society.
Lantra not only offers a range of courses designed to improve the practical skills of both the professional and leisure user, we also provide the all-important background theory behind the latest regulations in pest control and pesticide usage.
With many years’ experience supporting the sector, we also appreciate our range of training needs to be delivered in a range of styles.
That’s why we’ve developed courses that can be enjoyed in a hands-on setting or through online e-learning.
Here are some of the training areas we think may be of interest to you:
• Rabbit and Mole Control
• Control of Invasive Species
• Awareness of Integrated Weed Management • Brush Cutters/Trimmers
• Hedge Trimmers/Leaf Blowers
• Mowers
• Safe Use of Pesticides
• Chainsaws
• Fencing
• Responsible and Effective Control of Commensal
