TREE FESTIVAL
Aldwincle Christmas
Come to the beautiful and atmospheric church of
St Peter in Aldwincle to
enjoy the fun and magic of wandering through a host of individually decorated and themed Christmas trees. Vote for your favourite before heading over to the cosy village hall to enjoy a glass
of mulled wine and a mince pie. You can also take the opportunity to start your Christmas shopping at the craft stalls, or win a prize at the tombola.
Back in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Aldwincle regularly hosted very popular Christmas Tree Festivals. The event was revived last year, with trees decorated by the children

of Trinity Primary School, local groups, and businesses and residents of Aldwincle and
the surrounding villages. The organisers were delighted that so many trees were entered and by the number of people who came to see them over the festival weekend. Last year’s favourite tree was ‘The Snowman’ entered by Julie O’Connor. This year’s festival will be even bigger and better, with more trees and more to see and do.
The festival raises funds for the preservation and restoration of two churches – St Peter’s in Aldwincle and St John the Baptist in Achurch. Both churches are ancient buildings and money is always required to keep them in good order. It is the aim of the organisers to ensure that both churches are kept in a good condition so they can be enjoyed by everyone.
Join us on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December between 11am and 4pm. Entry to the event, which includes a glass of wine and a mince pie, costs £3 for adults and £1 for over 12’s. Entry for under 12s is free. This will be a great start to your Christmas season and we look forward to seeing you.
