WHAT’S ON
In and Around Oundle
Secret Santa
This is a lovely project which spreads joy
to those in need in our community. Play
Santa and choose a gift for someone who
is registered with Thrapston Food Bank by shopping locally at either Jollys (for children) or Hilly Horton Home (for grown-ups). Here’s how it works:
• Visit Jollys or HHH and pick a gift tag (only the gender and age of the child or adult is shared)
• Choose and buy a gift for that person
• The shop will wrap it (free of charge) and
deliver to the Food Bank on your behalf
All children and adults receiving gifts are local and registered with Thrapston Food Bank. No names or personal information is shared – this is very much a Secret Santa! You can choose any gift in the shops that you like. We recommend a gift of £5-£15 per person, but you can spend as much as you like!
The project runs until 15th December, or until all tags are taken – whichever comes first! Jollys Toys is at 28a High Street and Hilly Horton Home is at 66 High Street,
both in Thrapston.
If you would like to donate food or household items this is run separately, and by the Food Bank volunteers. Please contact the Food Bank directly on thrapstonfoodbank@ gmail.com or call
07907 343373 to
arrange drop off.
There is also
a donation
basket at
Thrapston
Co-Op for
you to leave
these items.
Chat Youth Counselling Welcomes New CEO
Following the
retirement of the
outgoing CEO, local
charity CHAT Youth
Counselling is pleased to introduce their new CEO, Rachel Travers.
Rachel is committed to developing the scope of the charity and helping as many young people as possible access free support from professional, qualified counsellors.
CHAT is a well respected local charity, based in Oundle and the surrounding villages, that is currently funded by the NHS to deliver youth counselling for those 11-18 as part of the Northamptonshire wide REACH partnership. They offer counselling at local schools, online, in Thrapston, and at their Oundle office.
As there is increasing demand for a counselling service to support the mental health of primary school aged children, the charity are looking for donations from the local business community to enable them to deliver extended support for children 9-11 years in the primary schools in the area.
If you can help, and you or your organisation would like to donate a series of individual sessions to make a real difference to a young person, then please email ceo@chatyouthcounselling. org.uk for further details.
