  it was mostly a refresher, but more the amount of information we were expected to absorb, coupled
with the lack of sleep. The major difference I noticed was the rate in which we as a platoon picked up the basics and before I knew it, we were into navigational exercises, weapon handling tests, drill and the pre-exercise administration for Ex SELF RELIANCE.
Overall, I believe this is down to the calibre of the Army, it was a rather poignant day. platoon but more importantly the instructors. My
first impressions of Sandhurst have been noth- ing but positive, although at times admittedly I’ve found readjusting from life in Battal- ion to life in training difficult, it soon passed as we moved closer to the drill test and the first Academy week- end.
