physical training standards, winning the Para 10 for the second consecutive year, much to the annoyance of the maroon berets, alongside anchoring the Bismarck challenge team to victory once again; Cpl Leonard was awarded top student in his Lt Cav Crew Commanders course; and LCpl Butler was awarded the top student on the PNCO cadre.
Having described all that we have achieved as a Sqn, I could not be more proud of the
efforts that have led to the successes this year. The Legion ethos remains strong, even with a mass influx of new faces. What has been impressive is the enthusiasm and drive that the new troopers have brought – always willing to get stuck in, get things wrong and learn from them, coupled with a healthy and competitive desire to win or be the best and everything they do. These are all going to be immensely important traits to take through into 2023, which looks an exciting one for C Sqn, with no rest on the
horizon. In the early spring, the Sqn will deploy to Kenya to participate as a second- ary training audience to the Coldstream Guards validation exercise Askari Storm. On return, as the Regiment deploys out to Estonia, C Sqn will keep Gaza Barracks warm whilst preparing for other tasks and potential operational deployments later in the year. As ever, an exciting time to be in the Mighty Legion.
