A Happy New Year to all of our members!
When I wrote these comments it was a miserably wet November afternoon, typical of a normal late autumn day in England. I should be out in the garden nishing cleaning out the greenhouses
and getting ready for an early start. However, with weather as miserable as it is, it did not take a lot of self persuasion to stay in and try to make a few random thoughts into a report.
After a very good Annual General Meeting at York we are moving
and may he/she have a very rewarding three years.
Back to more mundane things; this coming year has all the
appearance of being a very busy one with meetings already arranged with such august bodies as the National Planning Casework Unit, Shield Vantage Insurance, the Federation of City Farms, Garden Organic, our bankers and many others. Add all this to about half a dozen Management Committee meetings, a few Allotment Forums
south to Bath for this year’s event. It will be held on 10th June, so please put that date in your diaries. I’m sure there will be more details elsewhere in this magazine.
You should all be aware that this year we elect a new President
and, of course, the odd few shows and I think we are going to be busy. Goodness knows when we will get time on the allotment.
I hope you all enjoy the content of the magazine as much as I do; it has really improved a lot in the last few years, but don’t forget that
it is a members’ magazine and we rely heavily

on your input. Please keep up the good work and if you don’t feel
up to writing something yourself then just contact your Regional Representative with details of the event or item of interest and let him or her do the rest. If you have any ideas for an article or item then please contact Di Appleyard or Head Of ce and we will see what we can do.
May we all have a warm and successful spring and the time to enjoy it.
With best wishes to you all

The sub-committee, rather than taking a rest, have moved on
to the regions, constitution, rules, legal entity and relationship with Head Of ce. These are all down for examination. However, it is our intention, after the initial examination, to invite the regions to take part in the formation of any such rules or other regulative documents that may be deemed necessary.
You should all be aware that this year we elect a new President. All nominations should be in before the New Year and, by the time you read this, I think the results should be known. My best regards and good luck are offered to the proud holder of this prestigious Of ce
