                                 WELCOME From Thrapston Town Council
If you’re new to the town, welcome. You’ll soon see why people have been settling here since the Bronze Age. Enjoy being amongst lush green hills and established woodland with the River Nene on your doorstep. We may be slightly biased, but you’ve picked a fantastic place to live.
Thrapston offers a healthy dose of nostalgia and a whole lot of history. The good old days people speak of, when you could get your meat from the butcher, your bread from the baker, your fruit and veg from the market? They’re alive and well in Thrapston. The mixture of traditional shops and modern conveniences give residents the best of both worlds. Please help keep our town vibrant by supporting local businesses when you can. You can also find great local attractions for all the family just beyond the town’s borders. Many of these are free; visit nenevalley.net for more information.
Over the last few years, Thrapston Town Council has taken on responsibility for more open spaces within the town, including Water’s Edge and Osier Way. We hope to continue improving the town for
all residents; the Town Council recently took on the Tuesday market as well.
We’ve also been working on our events – now that we can – including the Party in the Park, Christmas Festival and Quiz & Chips. There are plans for further litter picks too, to keep Thrapston clean and tidy; keep in the loop by following our Facebook page and checking our noticeboards.
Our facilities are great but what really makes Thrapston a wonderful place to live is the people. Get involved and make new friends by joining one of the many community groups and hobby/interest clubs in the town. And please do get in touch if the Town Council can offer you any further information. We’re here to help.
The office is open Monday to Friday 9am–2pm
