Getting up steam...
It’s full steam ahead at Barnwell Country Park this summer. We are excited to announce the return of our Steam Rally on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th July. Preparations have been underway to welcome the miniature traction engines back to the park after a two-year absence. Our amazing team of volunteers have been working on all the little details which we hope will make the event an enjoyable one for everyone.
As well as putting their artistic skills to good use, our volunteer team has also been doing some essential maintenance around the park. Together we have rebuilt the boardwalk behind Mill Lake, and while the path was closed, we took the opportunity to make some repairs to the fence around the lake as well.
As fast as we complete one job in the park
another two seem to be added to the list! Whether we are managing the park for the humans during the summer or managing the park for the wildlife during the winter, there is always plenty to keep us busy.
There are plenty of things to keep visitors occupied too. Whether you want to explore the
park looking for Fairy Doors or new Jubilee Trail, have a picnic, or just sit on a bench and watch all the wildlife. There are also lots of activities for both children and adults, many run by our Active Parks team.
