...and our second Oundle Life Local Hero...
Hannah Williams lost her mum, Pat, to cancer in October 2019. Pat’s final weeks were spent at Thorpe Hall. The staff and volunteers there were so supportive to both Pat, Hannah and all the family during the hardest time of their lives. The pandemic has significantly impacted centres like Thorpe Hall and they need donations.
In honour of her mum (and to celebrate
her 21st birthday!) on 10th July, at Studio 36, Hannah shaved her head and raised over £1600 for the Thorpe Hall Hospice, Sue Ryder Charity.
Hannah’s hair was also donated to the Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides real hair wigs, free of charge,
to children and
young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.
Oundle Life donated to Hannah’s JustGiving page
and gave her a well deserved certificate.

LOCAL HEROES
The first of this month’s Oundle Life Local Heroes is a fabulous neighbour...
I would like to nominate John Lilley.
John is very kind and will help his neighbours with lots of things. Gardening, putting bins
out and taking them in, helping the elderly neighbours, giving advice, he was even spraying the weeds all the way down the street to make it tidy. Nothing is too much trouble. He certainly deserves a mention in your magazine and a big thank you for being such a great neighbour.
We surprised John with a £25 voucher for Amps Wine Merchants and his certificate.
Oundle is so lucky to have wonderful people helping out in their communities like John.
Donations can still be made on JustGiving.com. Please scan the QR code here to donate. Thank you!
