have imagined such a well-planned use of space. Niall manages each unique ground space, greenhouse, polytunnel or bespoke structure for each of his vegetables and still managed to have a lawn, drying area and
a nice picnic bench area where Niall’s wife Catriona warmly invited us to have a cuppa and some treats. Niall’s show veg were all a sight to behold and his garden was a true inspiration in such a small area. I counted

33 parsnips growing in pipes all neatly around the edge of their bespoke structure and marvelled at the strength of the long carrots, long beetroot and the quality of his Exhibition Onions and Blanch Leeks. We also couldn’t stop admiring the fabulous view from the garden across the isles.
A short trip back to the ferry terminal and we happily sailed back across to the mainland from this beautiful island. We
would like to thank all our garden hosts and our very entertaining and talented bus driver / tour guide who all made the day so enjoyable. Just to finish off, quoting George McGavin “It was a lovely day out and even the weather was fine with calm seas”. Thanks everyone.
