The DA achieved a gold award at Chorley Flower Show today – 26 July. Despite a smaller team than usual and less produce due to the poor growing season, we managed to pull it off and put on a great display.
It was great to see so many familiar faces, friends, family and visits by various press. As in previous years, Chorley MP, Rt Honourable Sir Lindsay Hoyle came round
to speak to all the exhibitors and thanking them for supporting the show. We had so many folks admiring the display, taking photos and asking questions.
Day before the show, Andrew Clark, an NVS Member and Deputy Head of Chorley St James’ CofE Primary School called
to see us with one of his pupils – Mia, aged 11 and her Mum. Mia had entered
a competition and her winning garden
design – The Wizard Garden created by Homescapes Ltd. The garden won the Chorley Flower Show Visitors Choice
2024. What a fantastic achievement for all involved and a real encouragement for Mia.
Encouraging younger growers is so important to continue with and keep the skills and knowledge going. Alex, with the encouragement of Grandad Mick and Grandma Tricia, who’re both good
