CHARITY
Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson, freedanced
to The Lion King, played Duchess to Once Upon a December, and did my exhibition to The Greatest Showman. I have had so much fun!
There have been so many great things to have come from my adult skating career. It has been incredible to be a role model to the younger skaters. My coach is always very quick to tell the little girls that I am
Pretty Muddy
in the Army and she uses my example to show them that they can be whatever they want to. I have also really enjoyed meeting the other adult skaters. Some of them train with me in Hull, some in Deeside, some in Sheffield, and the others I only catch up with at competitions. At the BACs this year I met another Manchester grad, Catherine Moshkun, who competes in some of the events I do, and is an Oral Surgeon in
Manchester, small world! We got a photo
for the Dentome, the Manchester Alumni magazine, and look forward to more pictures like this with her again later this year.
Skating has been a big part of my time in Leconfield. As it’s a sport I love, I hope it can continue when I post to Lichfield...there are many more Disney songs for me to skate to!
Maj (Retd) John Sharp (Reg Sec RADC)
Saturday 27th July saw the participation of an RADC Contingent in the Cancer Research “Pretty Muddy” 5km obstacle course at Stoke Park Guildford.
A Corps team consisting of Col Katherine Richardson, (Corps Col AMS), Maj (Retd) John Sharp (Reg Sec RADC), Capt Cheryl Blackwood, WO2 Liz Humphreys, SSgt Zoe Beckett and Sgt Gemma Johnson were joined by Mrs Lisa Grannells and her son Tyler along with other members of AMS Recruiting to run, walk, jog, crawl, climb, scramble, slide and space-hopper their way around the
5km course getting progressively muddier as they went.
As the pictures will testify, a most enjoyable morning out was enjoyed by
all who took part with the added bonus
of leaving Cancer Research better off by some £750 (at the last count) on account of the RADC participation.
Well done to all who took part. A big thankyou to all who sponsored and a big thanks to Liz Humphreys for organising. Let’s have another one next year with even bigger Corps representation for this worthwhile and deserving cause.
