 CUOTC
 Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk’s Awards
These awards, held annually, recognise contribution and dedication of personnel in military organisations in Norfolk, namely the ACF, ATC, UOTC and Army Reserve. This year 2 officer cadets from CUOTC were presented with this prestigiuos award: JUO Musker and OCdt Peter Martin.
OCdt Martin was recognised for his outstanding work in “Operation Norfolk Remembers”, co-ordinating a project which involved researching and mapping every First World Memorial in the county of Norfolk, (in excess of 850), to mark the centenary of the 2nd weekend of the Battle of the Somme .
I was awarded a prize in recognition of my work and commitment as a Junior Under Officer towards the CUOTC Norwich detachment, something I have thoroughly enjoyed and it
has only helped me develop in my aspirations
to become a Reserve Officer. I mentored
new OCdts into the Unit and took the lead in organising the annual Norwich Dinner. I was also
delighted to be selected to run the Cambrian Patrol Team, a tough physical and mental challenge involving navigation and command tasks. We won Silver!
The awards were held at the Norwich Army Reserve Centre. Alongside the award winners and their guests were many local government
representatives and dignitaries
in attendance to congratulate
the award winners. Recognition also went to several Air Training Corps cadets and Army Cadet Force cadets alongside their adult instructors. 3 Royal Anglian were presented an award for their recent recruiting efforts.
These awards present an excellent way
to recognise efforts within these military organisations. This recognition goes a long way to reward and encourage future hard work and incentivise officer cadets to take initiative and show dedication.
