lead one, discussion groups, mental tests and individual presentations. There was also time made for the dreaded Planning Exercise test, with tuition given to assist those with no previous experience. In the evening, time was made
for a well-deserved social event with informal presentations from those that have recently been through the commissioning process.

“At the end of the weekend, everyone had an interview with an assessor. This is an extremely valuable and highly underrated part of the weekend. During the interview, the assessor discussed progress made over the weekend, and highlighted individual strengths/weaknesses as well as providing constructive criticism on personality traits that would not put one in good stead for the AOSB, such as being “the grey man” or “needs to take a step back”.
We remained in the same groups throughout the weekend, which allowed relationships
to develop amongst those whom would not usually socialise because they are from different universities. This also allowed a true team
spirit to develop which was useful during the competitive games night. I thoroughly enjoyed this weekend because it challenged me in many new ways. I learnt a lot about myself and had
the opportunity to develop new and current skills which will aid my performance at the AOSB. I would highly recommend it to anyone, regardless of their intention to develop a career in the military or civilian world.”
