INTER-COMPANY TRAINING & VISITS
unusual for a few reasons. Firstly
we, as a group of seven, were
walking in a far larger group than
most pilgrims (who tend to at least
start the Camino alone or in a pair)
– we even adopted Katherine, a
pilgrim from Oxford UOTC who had enough pluck to walk the last 500km with us. We also had a strict schedule to follow, planned superbly by JUO Gibbons, and expert admin knowledge that was dished out by 2Lt Campbell with a healthy side of banter.
All in all, Ex Santiago Blue was a terrific success. We bonded as a group, motivating each other when the going got tough. The stated aim of understanding the role military AT can
play in building leadership and character, was undoubtedly achieved by all members of the group, and we return to Cambridge and Norwich all the stronger for it. Thanks must go to the CoC for signing off the expedition, to 2Lt Campbell for his crucial support throughout, and in particular to JUO Gibbons for proposing, organising and leading the expedition in such an exemplary fashion.
