SUMMIT OF SLOVENIA

Back in April, myself and fellow Sapper Oscar decided to head to Slovenia for one last adventure
before Oscar moved on to pastures new and entered Sandhurst for his commis- sioning course.
Last year we tackled Kilimanjaro, an experience that has firmly reinforced our passion for mountains and the sense of adventure associated with them. I would argue that in the modern world where we are all connected via social media and
24/7 news, the world seems a whole lot smaller, and that the sense of adventure that our ancestors had has now been lost. I’ve found though that dragging myself up a mountain, whether that’s in the Brecon Beacons or East Africa, unleashes a sense
