CHAIRMAN’S REPORT – Councillor Craig Wheeler
The past month has been a
busy time in both Council and
town life. We had the Charter
Fair, where I was invited by the organisers to judge the window competition along with Cllr. Sam
Cribb. We were overwhelmed
by the efforts made by local
traders for the event and we
decided that Jollys Toys be
awarded best window display
for its ‘Aliens in Underpants’ decorations. The amount of time
and effort all the volunteers put
in to this event is enormous and I would like to thank them for the fantastic day out that they put on not just this year but every year. I also had my Civic Service,
attended by local dignitaries and residents from the town. Thanks to all who attended,
we had a lovely day. I also had the pleasure of being invited to Althorp House by the Mayor of Daventry for a tour of the house and gardens. It was a wonderful afternoon and we were able
to take in the surroundings on one of the cooler July days. Looking forward to the coming month, I am hosting a Teddy Bear’s Picnic on Wednesday
Councillor Craig Wheeler
1st August (weather depending) in the Peace Park. It’s a community gathering so parents, grandparents and carers can all come along with their children and relax
in our beautiful park together. I encourage you all to bring a picnic blanket, picnic, teddy (of course!) and enjoy some
games. More details will follow. As
Mayor I am supporting Thrapston Sports Associations’ August Bank Holiday event, look out for more information around the town and on Facebook.
