Thrapston Library
The Friends of Thrapston Library Group would like to thank the kind people of Thrapston and the surrounding villages for their support of the Tombola Stall that was held outside the Library, at the Charter Fair on 30th June 2018. We gained the grand total of £286.00, which will go towards the future running of the Library.
The group is holding regular committee meetings and it is their plan to take over
the Library when the Northamptonshire County Council finally close it. Unfortunately, the closing date has been moved a few times and we believe it will now be 30th September 2018 but we would like the public to know that our plan is to continue to run it, as an Independent Library. The Town Council have put in a bid to purchase the building as a community hub and the FoTL have submitted their Stage 2 Expression
of Interest paperwork for consideration
to manage the library. Now we both play
a waiting game. If anyone is interested
in supporting the Library in the future, by way of donating their time or expertise, the group would love to hear from them. Please contact Anne Gilbert on 01832 733321 or by e-mail on A.Gilbert@talktalk.net.
