Another year of Adventurous Training delivery on the Island of Cyprus. The recent years of struggling to battle with the COVID-19 Pandemic and being able to get a consistent course delivery has finally come to an end; Students have been flooding in from all over Defence to experience what great opportunities await them at the Joint Service Adventurous Training Wing here in Cyprus.
JSATW(C) is a an ever-evolving centre that has its aim firmly on giving the best product to its students. With now more leader qualifications on offer pushing students further in the scheme and the continuance in their development. These new courses are, Sea Kayaking (S3N) and Mountain Bike Leader (MBL) this is a huge achievement for the Staff as it shows a large range of courses that can be delivered to Defence from foundation level to leader.

try something new; such an event was when SSgt Griffiths and Sgt Jones were invited to a local school to talk all things mountains, a trip that I’m sure the children will not forget in a hurry. Additionally, the Land Activity Branch (LAB) delivered training on EX CAPTAINS DRIVER, an annual Military Exercise held by the 1st Battalion the Royal Anglian Regiment; the LAB team were on hand to assist with the running of multiple abseils by dozens of inexperienced Soldiers over the course of two days.

We don’t only deliver the courses and support expeditions, the Wing has also helped support the Cyprus Regional Study Period, which saw HQ RAPTC staff embark on some of the activities.
In summary, this year has been a huge success, putting the COVID-19 memories in the past. Delivering 1039 course places across Parachuting, Sailing, Sub Aqua Diving, Mountain Biking, Kayaking and Climbing.
