So many local heroes...
We have been inundated with nominations, so this month – another two!
When Oundle Life first came up with the
idea of celebrating our local heroes, we never dreamt that we would receive such a large amount of emails, telling us tales of kindness, caring and genuine, all round, good eggs!
Finding so many community champions
in such a small area, is a true testament to the wonderful place in which we live. Caroline and Jenny are both very deserving winners and you can read more about their deeds on page 26.
Hopefully by the time this drops onto
your doorstep, all lockdowns will be a distant memory and we can all return to a more ‘normal’ world, than that of the past months
(or years!). With this fresh outlook and sunnier days, why not take up a new sport to get you out of the house and rekindle your social life?
So whether it’s bowls (page 6), tennis (page 30), or just exercising (page 34) that interests you, now is the time to get out there and give it a try – keeping fit while making new friends!
In our Q&A, The Barn Garden Centre takes us back to the 1970s when the original ‘Barn’ was set up in Peterborough (page 24).
After speaking to so many Oundle residents recently about our magazine, the one thing that
we hear time after time, is how much you enjoy Joe Croser’s articles about the buildings that surround us. This month he concentrates his attentions on Stone Cottage in Barnwell and the way in which its shape has evolved (page 17).
