                                    LOVE
LYVEDEN
Become a volunteer
It is always surprising when we talk to people in and around Thrapston, just how many have not been to Lyveden – or have visited, but many years ago before the Manor was part
of the site. Neil and I enjoyed our visits and
sites and ‘Learning Activities’ for volunteers:
a graffiti talk, a visit to the Archaeological Resource Centre at Chester House and a trip to see Upton House are planned. We often see behind the scenes when we visit other sites as a
   became volunteers.
We enjoy the range of activities we
get involved in. We can choose when
we go, and to a certain extent what we
do. We may be welcoming visitors or
talking about the history of the site and
the people who occupied it. Last year
we enjoyed the ‘Sealed Knot’ event in
July and the ‘Apple and Ale’ event in September. Our Christmas celebrations at Lyveden with our own ‘Tudor’ Father Christmas telling stories to children in the Common Room (where there are also books to read and some to buy) was very successful. Most, if not all National Trust sites have a second-hand bookshop, and any donations would be most welcome.
We also have visits to other National Trust
group of volunteers!
There are a variety of roles you could
help with... and it’s always a pleasure to spend time in the open air, enjoying the peace and tranquillity, and meeting a lovely variety of people as they visit the site. Finally, If you have not been to Lyveden then please consider a visit.
We would love to see you.
