TAKING A WALK
for health and wellbeing
Need an excuse to get out the house and meet new likeminded people whilst taking in some gentle exercise? Then come along to one of the Northamptonshire Health and Wellbeing walks in your local Country Park.
The Health and Wellbeing Walks are being run as part of the Active Parks project to encourage people to be more active. Although, with the recent pandemic, the focus is as much on creating an opportunity for social interaction
in a safe, open air environment, as it is on the actual physical fitness element.
The walks differ depending on which park they are held in. Our most local one, at Barnwell Country Park, is a gentler walk
on flat, hardstanding surfaces, suitable for
those just starting out on their fitness journey or recovering from injury. Whereas the walk at Fermyn Woods is a slightly faster paced, longer walk with some gentle inclines. Both walks start and finish at the cafes and, most importantly, are FREE to attend.
The Country Park Health and Wellbeing walks are led by one of our friendly Rangers who is happy to point out any interesting wildlife or activity going on in the parks.
The walks run all year round during term time.
