       deployment, quick action, GAC consolida- tion orders, defence plan and DOGA board TEWTs. With the Reserves remaining totally engaged and enthusiastic to learn more the exercise tempo was increased to incorporate urban deployment and tactical hide TEWTs, once the theory was learned practical deployments were intro- duced to confirm understanding.
With the temperatures increasing and the dry exercise nearing its conclusion the final 24 hours saw the Regimental Gun Group occupy a tactical hide as a firm base to then launch “Pistol Gun” serials throughout the night. Under the cover of darkness and in complete silence each
gun detachment was given a 2-hour window to travelled independently along a proven route through a number of gun RVs and INS update points with the aim of successfully completing their task; to fire a method off a gun firing programme and to achieve their Time on Target!
The next morning the Gun Group moved out to deploy into their first position of the day only to hear the much-anticipated words, “Hello GOLF INDIA 30, this is GOLF INDIA 31A, Fire Mission Battery over”. The Guns sprang into a quick action with a sense of purpose and credible perfor- mance, further confirming to the Battery Commander that Gun Groups training
had paid off.
On receipt of
“End of Mission” the Gun Group pressed onto their destination and occupied the Troop Tight position where mid deployment they were unduly bugged out by “counter battery fire” and forced to
