The Harrogate Autumn Flower Show has been held in the beautiful grounds of Newby Hall, North Yorkshire for the last three years (the entry fee gives access
to both), whilst the Harrogate Spring Flower Show remains on the Great Yorkshire Showground.
Both shows are organised by the North of England Horticultural Society, dedicated to the support and promotion of horticulture across the North. As such, it runs events with a very friendly atmosphere, both for exhibitors and punters alike.
I have been a participant in these shows for over twenty years, helping in the creation of allotment show gardens and more recently, promotional stands on behalf of Leeds Allotments Federation, Allotment Regeneration Initiative and National Allotment Society Yorkshire - all promoting the allotments movement in general.
Join us as a volunteer!
If you get the chance to participate in shows up and down the country, jump at the chance. It can be great fun if you like meeting people and talking allotments. Plus, you get the chance to visit some beautiful show locations like Newby Hall.
