Still fundraising The Inner Wheel Club donate to the Foodbank
Sunday 10th January was Inner Wheel Day. Every year on the 10th January the Ladies of the Inner Wheel Club of Thrapston & Raunds usually have a fundraising fun day and give the proceeds to a local charity. In January 2019 and 2020 donations were made to
the Oundle Community First Responders, Paramedics who provide a quick response to emergencies within the area they serve, including Thrapston.
This year, in view of the COVID restrictions, we decided to make a food donation to
the Thrapston Foodbank and one of our members, Mrs Angela Gyves, delivered the boxes on the Club’s behalf.

WHAT IS ROTARY?
Founded 116 years ago, Rotary is one of the world’s leading membership and humanitarian service organisations, with 1.2 million members globally. In Great Britain and Ireland, there are around 45,000 members in 1,700 clubs.
Through membership of their local club, individuals volunteer on community and humanitarian projects, which make a difference locally, nationally and globally. Rotary members are determined to tackle the world’s biggest issues, including promoting peace, fighting disease, supporting education, supporting the environment and so much more.
Rotary was formed as a networking organisation and this still plays a part
in Rotary life today. Rotary provides the opportunity to expand personal and professional circles, meet new people and make lasting friendships, all while having fun in the process. Rotary clubs are always interested in hearing from people who might want to support our activities or join as members.

Upcoming activities
The announcement of a gradual relaxation of the lockdown means that the lead up time for this edition of Jigsaw coincides with a period where we will all be trying
to work out what might be possible in April and beyond. Please look at the club Facebook page for any changes
to events. However, at the time of writing we anticipate continuing with our weekly Zoom meetings, guest speakers, volunteering at the vaccination centre, virtual fundraising and help for the local food banks for some time to come.
PALM CROSSES
Have you
found one yet?
Look out for
palm crosses
hanging
around
Thrapston,
Islip and
Denford (with an invitation to online services). Be sure to take it home when you find one. Palm crosses
are traditionally given out on Palm Sunday (28th March this year), the day when we remember Jesus riding into Jerusalem.
Look out too for the Easter Trail in St James’ churchyard.
