Rounds a plenty ready for live firing
much reinforced, and that CPO will never make the same mistake again. After some gentle reminders from the FST Commanders he was on form for the fire plans to come at the end. The exercise finished with all five OP Acks certified as trained, qualified, cur- rent and competent (TQCC) and ready to work with the newly posted FST Commanders. An excellent exercise for the whole Battery and great chance to practice our craft under armour and in the field.
As the exercise for E Battery and Chestnuts drew to a close, occu- pying a leaguer near to the back gate, B Battery were preparing themselves to deploy out and conduct their dry-phase training.

Having recently deployed on Ex IRON STORM in Castlemartin, they had already had ample opportunities earlier in the year live- firing, and so maximised on this week to make sure their tactical manoeuvring and sustainment was refined. The Regimental FDC, A1 echelon and workshop deployed throughout. They offered a high-level of support to the Batteries, providing an EXCON func- tion as well as delivering much-needed resupply and mechani- cal support. An exercise of this scale cannot happen without the planning and “behind the scenes” support which the Regimental departments offer, and it was excellent to see a Regimental exer- cise take place following a hiatus on large-scale training during the pandemic.
