Once in the water the three man crew of the M3 demonstrated the full capabilities of the vehicle. Having given those that dared a chance to steer, we were left very surprised by just how agile this 28 tonne rig is on the water. The three man crew then displayed their undoubted skill by joining two rigs together as a show of how the M3 is used to traverse large stretches of water.
Having thanked our hosts it was time for lunch with reservations at a plush restaurant in Minden. Fine dining and good company is always a good way to end any team building session.
The day was a resounding success. As well as improving regional cohesion, the visit imparted greater awareness of the what the soldiers we care for do on a day to day basis and gave our German civilian staff what is likely to be one of their final experiences of the British Military before our presence here is greatly curtailed.
A timely boost to morale with the upcoming drawdown of BFG next year!
