Winchester. Entitled ‘I am a Ri eman’, the timing of this exhibition will be poignant, as the Ri es County Of ce currently based here in The Keep will be closing in March 2018.
We know that our location in Bodmin can make it dif cult for some of our supporters to get to us, so we’re keen to make use of a variety of different ways to bring the museum to the Regiments we represent. We are strengthening our links with members of our military family via our website and social media and by sharing stories in our e-newsletters and blog. Our aim is to ensure that the regiments we represent are widely recognised, celebrated and remembered.

tions to our supporters. This year, Museum Director Mary Godwin, and Project Manager Sophie Hodge, set up a stand at the Shrewsbury reunion with a few objects from the Light Infantry collection, including a piece of the Berlin Wall, the highly decorated Commanding Of cer’s Bugle, and a helmet damaged by sniper re in Northern Ireland in the 1990’s. These objects generated a great deal of conversation, and we listened with interest to the stories we were told, not only about close scrapes, but also people’s memories of their daily lives in the regiments. Every single person we spoke to throughout the day was extremely welcoming, and we were very fortunate to have been allocated a stand next to the wonderful The Light Division & Ri es Buglers Association, who are all so friendly and passionate about what they do. We’re already looking forward to next year’s reunion – the grand 50th!
