Editorial team:
Major Iain Rose,
WO1 (RSM) Sue Roberts and WO1 David Blackmore.
I would like to start by thanking all the readers who made generous donations to the Appeal that we launched in the Autumn edition to cover the ever increasing cost of postage for Chiron Calling. We have a list of 30 names. Again, thank you.
Feedbacks are always
welcome and rewarding,
but they also help us
to make improvements
where necessary. I counted
no fewer than 23 letters,
emails and telephone calls
to thank us for the Autumn
15 edition of Chiron
Calling. This makes it all worthwhile for the editorial team who have to do all the background work in their own time, before the rst draft is sent to our Publishers. Crest Publishing also deserve some of the credit for the production of Chiron Calling. Caroline, Jayne, Eddy and Andy from Crest do a huge amount of work in the production of this Corps Magazine. We now have an on line version that can be read by everyone who has access to the internet. Connect to ravc-association.org and you will be able to turn the pages by using the arrow keys.
One of our biggest achievements in the last year was without doubt the launch of the RAVC history update project. None
of us underestimated the task in hand, but having covered the rst year of this enormous assignment, I am optimistic that our ultimate objective of producing Volume 3 of the RAVC history remains on track. Hopefully by this time next year we will be holding our own copy of this volume of the RAVC history, covering the period 1961 to date.
We are starting a new feature from this edition. Based on the suggestion from a senior member of our Editorial Team
(Maj Iain Rose), we will be featuring an interview with members of the Corps to tell us about their Service since joining; also their function in the Corps and their likes and dislikes as well. We have made a debut with this piece by a number of interviews with Lt Col Steve Foreman, CO 1 MWD Regt, Capt Theo Gill, Adjutant DAC and Cpl Paul Sancto from the DAC.
Finally we would like to thank the Adjutants of the DAC and 1 MWD Regt, not forgetting OC 101 MWD Sqn, Maj Chris Ham MBE for their effort and dedication in producing all the articles for this Spring/Summer edition.
