Please adhere to the following guidelines when submitting material.
All contributions should be sent by email to: gazette@qarancassociation.org.uk
Closing dates: Autumn Edition 2020 – 31 July 2020, Spring Edition 2021 – 31 January 2021
• Article length should be no more than 1000 words. Please contact the editor for advice if more words are needed. Your article should have a title. Your full name, rank and appointment, if applicable, should be written at the end.
• Each article should be submitted as a Word document using the normal template, left aligned in Helvetica font (or similar) size 10. Please do not indent paragraphs, use bold or italic font, or underline. Please do not design your own layout. Articles not meeting the guidelines may be returned to the author for rewriting
• If using abbreviations, please write the title out in full the first time the initials are used.
• Contributors are reminded that there is a wide range of readership for the Gazette, so please write in a style that is compatible with ease of reading. Jargon, slang, and military report style writing should be avoided.
• Photographs to accompany articles are welcome; please provide up to three good quality images in .jpg format only. Photographs should be submitted separately and not added to Word documents. Photographs taken from the internet will be not be used.
• All photographs must have a caption – write these at the end of your text, including first and last names of individuals.
• Permission and copyright: It is your responsibility, as the author, to obtain permission of the individuals appearing in photographs for their image to be used. This should be clearly stated when submitting photographs. Copyright fees, where applicable, are the responsibility of the author and not of the Association.
• The editor and the QARANC Association reserve the right to edit articles and to reject those unsuitable for publication.
• The editor is happy to provide advice on the submission of photographs and articles.

The Gazette is your magazine.
Your contributions are most welcome and greatly appreciated but... please ensure that you provide hi res photos (thumbnail images pulled from the internet are not good enough quality for print). Add photo captions too – we all enjoy reading your articles so it would be great to know who is who and where the photo was taken!
