As you
may have seen from the diary dates, this year’s Corps Reunion is moving to Friday 11 October 2024 in St Georges
Barracks. This has been revised
due to the date in June clashing
with numerous events in both the Regimental Calendars, and with the Gathering at Melton Mowbray. It was felt a date later in the calendar may be better reciprocated and that hopefully attendance will be uplifted from previous years.
This date of the nearest Friday to 13 October (1903) – has been chosen, as it represents the date when
King Edward VII signed an order that created the Army Veterinary Corps and abolishes compound/ prefix ranks. But didn’t define how VOs would be incorporated into the Corps.
More details on this will follow shortly. Please ensure I have your email details if you would like to receive details on any upcoming events.
This is the first iteration of Chiron Calling going out yearly, a big thank you to the Regiments for their continued support in submitting their features, it would be lovely to have a few more articles from our Veteran’s, these don’t need to be story books, a couple of paragraphs and a few pictures, would be
great, so, please keep up the good work and send in your chronicles, without your help and dedication
to Chiron Calling it may fall by the wayside, remember, all our current articles will become the history of the future. The more we get in, the better read it will be for you all. I hope you enjoy the contents we have in this edition.
