Success for Equine Training Squadron at Royal Windsor Horse Show 2024
Over the weekend, the Equine Training Squadron (ETS) showcased their prowess
at the prestigious Royal Windsor Horse Show 2024, with a remarkable display of skill and teamwork. Comprising military personnel, civil service grooms, and their esteemed Military Working Horses (MWH), the ETS team emerged triumphant in various competitions.
In the Kingdom of Bahrain Services Team Jumping competition, two teams from the Defence Animal Training Regiment (DATR) exhibited exceptional performance, clinching top positions and accolades.
The DATR A Team, comprising a formidable lineup of military rider combinations, secured victory in
the Mounted Units category. The winning trio included Warrant Officer Class 2 Heeley riding MWH Hollywood, Staff Sergeant Kershaw with MWH Rashford, and Sergeant Green partnered with MWH Ferguson.
Not to be outdone, the DATR
B Team showcased their skill
and determination, securing a commendable fifth place in the Mounted Units category. However, their achievements didn’t stop there.
The team also claimed the title of Best Shod Team, a testament to the expertise of the DATR farriery team, whose dedication ensured the horses were in peak condition for the competition. The winning trio included Warrant Officer Class 1 Jones riding MWH Kibo, Staff Sergeant Knight with MWH Stormtrooper, and Corporal of Horse Alden partnered with MWH Berbatov.
