RAVC Reunion
On June 24th, the annual RAVC reunion brought together serving personnel, veterans,
and their families at both DATR and Royal British Legion Melton Mowbray to remember the fallen.
The day started with a short parade featuring Military Working Animals alongside personnel from DATR, 1MWD, and veterans. The Reverend Tom Wilde CF, Chaplain to 1MWD & 2 Royal Anglian
lead the parade, emphasising
the unbreakable bond between personnel and their animal companions. Both Commanding officers spoke, further exemplifying the vital role our soldiers and remarkable animals play in the service of our country. A standout moment was when Corporal Harrison guided MWH Martinez,
a remarkable 6-year-old horse, through his first-ever military parade with poise and confidence.
The event turned into a heart- warming family affair, fostering heartfelt conversations, rekindling friendships, and forging new connections. CVRO Col Morrison, took the opportunity
to express gratitude to the families and
service personnel, adding a heartfelt touch to the occasion.
In conclusion, the RAVC reunion at DATR and the Royal British Legion Melton Mowbray was a resounding success, honouring
the dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment of the RAVC community. It showcased the remarkable bond between service personnel and animals while reinforcing the Esprit de corps of the RAVC community. This cherished tradition will continue to pay tribute to the heroes who have served and the animals who stood by their side, creating enduring memories for years to come.
