several years. Joking aside, The Trust could not function without the 13 volunteers who give up their evenings and weekends to act as tour guides and ushers at events. We are always on the lookout for new guides so if you are inter- ested please give us a call.
We continue to support retired army officers in need through our partner charity, The Officers’ Association and this is an extract we received in November from a former Captain in the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry: ‘Heartfelt thanks to The Sandhurst Trust for providing me with a most comfortable reclining chair. It is a relief to be able to relax during the day and night and to have some sort of normality’.
The Sandhurst Trust team is as follows:
13 Pl SMC 16 Reunion with CGS, Gen Sir Nicholas Carter, Right of the Centre Row
In conclusion, the best way to sum up The Sandhurst Trust in 2017 is to look at the figures: We disbursed £77,500:
£36,195 in AT grants to 549 officer cadets £1,346 in grants to UOTC Expeditions
£18,324 in grants in support of other leadership activities
£3,995 for 85 Sandhurst Medals presented to international cadets
£7,300 to the Officers’ Association for retired army officer welfare
£6,939 in grants for welfare within RMAS
The remainder was split between the myriad of activities The Trust supports.
