Quinque surf (F5c), Babapresa (F6a), Efectes secundaris (6a+) and Miendomeda (6a+) were interesting routes that allowed us to practice the new techniques we had learnt the day before.
Our final day brought us to Samarkanda, where we tackled Lo Maquinista (6a+), D’entrada (6c), Tio paco (6b+) and Suplici Aracnid (6b). D’entrada was the most challenging climb we attempted on the trip, and pushed us to our limits. It took us many attempts before people finally started reaching the top, and again it was a great learning experience. We finished off with an evening in Barcelona, before departing back to the UK.
The expedition members would like to take this opportunity to thank the Sandhurst Trust for their generous donation, which helped to make the trip possible.
Exercise GLACIAL THOR CADET
OCdts Mugford and Moore
EX GLACIAL THOR Cadet saw six Officer Cadets, ably accompanied by instructor Bdr Chris Wren, head off to Geilo in Norway for
five days of Nordic skiing, a trip made possible by the financial support provided by the Sandhurst Trust. Unfortunately, due to the conditions late in the year, a number of the training objectives were unable to be met, making Nordic Foundation 1
unattainable for the Sandhurst novices. Never- theless, the week allowed all OCdts to accrue valuable hours in their log books and Bdr Wren to further develop himself and work towards his next Nordic Ski Leader Qualification.
Leaving early on the morning of Saturday 15th April, we flew from Heathrow to Bergen. From
