in parliament. Amongst several other appointments in his later years, Hawkins was a deputy lieutenant of Greater London, life president of the Battle of Britain Trust, and a Gentleman Usher to the Queen. Air Vice-Marshal David Hawkins CB LVO MBE died on 31st January 2019.
