Tim Peake 1992.
Timothy Nigel Peake was born in Chichester on 7th April 1972. Educated at Chichester High School for Boys, he took part in a three-month expedition in Alaska before entering Sandhurst. Commissioned into the Army Air Corps in 1992, he was attached to the Royal Green Jackets during a Northern Ireland tour before commencing his flight training, gaining his wings in 1994. Flying Gazelles in Germany, he took part in another Northern Ireland tour, then was deployed to NATO forces in Bosnia.
Opting to become a flying instructor, he was sent to the US to train on the Apache attack helicopter, then became one of the first instructors, training pilots after Britain bought the aircraft. After promotion to major, and with over 2,000 hours
