Hannah left the army in April 2018 to become a full-time artist, setting up her own studio in Gloucestershire. Her detailed knowledge of animal biology and anatomy and her interest in behaviour bring her subjects to life and has made her one of the most successful self-representing artists in the UK. She once described her work as: ‘Art is home for me, it is my comfort, my safe space ... But I am, by trade, a scientist’. Several of her works have been sold for charities, such as support for the Invictus Games team, the World Wildlife Fund, and The Prince of Wales’s conservation charity, Tusk. A brand ambassador for this charity since 2022, she has raised over £200,000 for animal welfare and conservation.
