                                 ATC Pirbright
It is a challenging time for the staff here at ATC (Pirbright). Covid restrictions have not only impacted the delivery of training but also our lived experience. Fortu- nately, with the roll-out of the vaccine, recruit numbers are increasing, and the delivery of training is returning to normal.
I took over my current role from Sgt Warner in Apr 21 and have delivered three Common Military Syllabuses. The training environment is more complex than one may initially realise. My role at ATC (Pirbright) entails facilitating this training at all levels, both up and down the CoC, to ensure the training being delivered is current and to the highest standard, in true QDG fashion.
Being part of the transition of these recruits from civilians to professional soldiers in only 14 weeks is incredibly rewarding – especially those joining the QDG of course! Passing on my regi- mental passion and pride is the simplest responsibility I have. Being witness to those QDG recruits relishing the future challenges they will face at ITT and RD is fantastic.
Another rewarding aspect of this post is the multi cap-badge environment. This is a unique experience and one that allows the opportunity to develop and mentor the very best corporals from across the Army.
The QDG continues to be pro-active in ‘nurturing’ future soldiers here at ATC (Pirbright). Sgt Grills delivers the compre- hensive QDG recruiting packs whilst Maj Mansel and WO2 Walker both regularly attend the Pass off Parades. There’s no

doubt that the QDG leads the charge when it comes to regiments supporting their future soldiers and showing that we are truly a family regiment.
Finally, if anyone is ever in the area,
please feel free to drop in; the kettle is always on and I am always looking forward to catching up with my fellow Dragoons.
