I have the honour to report on your Battalion’s activities in 2023, a year in which 1 RIFLES supported others on a variety of tasks, before preparing for and then conducting a Unit Move to Cyprus.
OPERATIONAL ACTIVITY
At the beginning of the year, 1 RIFLES was tasked to support others in a num- ber of ways, including training Ukrainian Armed Forces on Op INTERFLEX, and supporting Exercise WESSEX STORM on Salisbury Plain. The Battalion also ran its Potential Junior Non-Commissioned Officer cadre, a demanding course taking place on Dartmoor, Brecon and Caerwent training areas, and resulting in a crop of newly promoted LCpls. The Battalion also prepared for the Unit Move to Cyprus
