recruits in Wathgill (North Yorkshire). Contrary to our expectations many of these Border Guards were already experienced from some of the most violent battles of their war with Russia such as Bakhmut. We have learned a great deal about modern warfare from them, even while we have been instructing. In 2023 our companies trained 2400 Border Guards in Warcop and the Dutch and Norwegian Companies under 3 RIFLES command in Wathgill trained a further 2400 Ukrainian army recruits. We are very proud of our outsized contribution to the Ukrainian fight, and I hope we have made firm friends with our Ukranian, Norwegian and Dutch allies.
