                                 So much more than books...
OUNDLE LIBRARY
Just like many organisations we have certainly had a few changes to adapt to here at Oundle Library. Maybe that’s a bit of an understatement!
During lockdown the library staff were seconded to the Community Resilience Hub, contacting those who had to shield during lockdown and ensuring they had access to food and medical supplies as well as someone to talk to. We were also able to continue our Library To You service, ensuring that our housebound customers had a bag of books delivered to their door throughout the pandemic.
We are now able to open our doors again, though like all things, it’s a bit different to normal. We have limited 15-minute browsing slots which can be booked in advance. We also have our Select and Collect service, where you can order a bag of books to pick up from the library. These are picked by the library staff and have been very popular, with a lot of people saying it’s been a great opportunity to try reading something new.
We are continuing with our Library To You deliveries direct to housebound customers, and have spaces available if you, or someone you know, would benefit from this service.
We are also able to process new Bus Pass applications, and renew Bus Passes.
Remember we are also very active on Facebook; even though we cannot yet run our usual activities there are always lots of fun
things to join in with on there. Our weekly Rhymetime goes live at 10am every Tuesday and we have all sorts of competitions and craft workshops for anyone to join in with at home.
We would like to thank Oundle residents
for being very understanding and supportive during these strange times. Please keep checking our Facebook page and our website to keep up to date with any further changes.
Our current opening times are Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10am-4pm and Saturday 10am-2pm. If you would like to book a slot for browsing, order a select and collect, request a Library To You delivery, or need a new Bus Pass or want to renew an existing one, please get in touch.
