The Platoon’s deployment to South Sudan is still in its infancy at the time of writing. However, the Platoon has already had a positive impact on the mission here. The Platoon have been conducting guard duties and providing Force Protection
for daily moves to and from the airport. They have also been further afield into
the Protection of Civilian (POC) site and Bentiu town itself to facilitate meetings. The Platoon has forged close relationships with fellow UN TCCs which will continue to develop throughout the remainder of the tour.
Finally, congratulations to LCpl Johnson and LCpl Sowter who have both promoted this last year, along with LCpl Brown who will leave us to join the Recce Platoon on return from South Sudan.
